Reverse Cycle Airconditioning – FAQs
Q: What’s the difference between evaporative air conditioning (EAC) and reverse cycle air conditioning?
A: EAC draws warm air through a moist filter to cool it. Reverse cycle air conditioning uses an outdoor compressor and an indoor fan coil to cool the air. The air is cooled using a refrigeration process. This can be ‘reversed’ to also warm the air (hence reverse cycle) allowing you to heat your home in winter.
Q: Which is more efficient?
A: On extremely humid days, reverse cycle air conditioning is more efficient at cooling air. It also allows you more accurate temperature control.
Q: Do I have to heat or cool my entire house?
A: No. Bonaire ducted systems used ‘switched zoning’ so that different areas can be cooled or heated as needed. For example, living areas in the daytime and sleeping areas at night.
Q: Can I heat my home other ways?
A: Bonaire reverse cycle systems can be integrated with ducted gas heating, giving you the most efficient heating and cooling all year round.
